While Chievo complete the permanent signing of Stefano Sorrentino from AEK Athens, Bruno Cirillo moves in the other direction.
Sorrentino had an impressive campaign on loan from AEK, helping the Flying Donkeys to safety from relegation.
It was confirmed this week that Chievo have taken up their option and bought the goalkeeper outright.
“Finally the long-awaited fax has arrived,” smiled Sorrentino.
“I am very happy about this transfer and consider it the perfect end to a season that started amid a thousand problems, but we were able to end on a high.”
The 30-year-old has also worn the gloves at Lazio, Torino, Juve Stabia, Varese, Torino, AEK Athens and Recreativo Huelva.
If Sorrentino is returning to Italy from Greece, then Reggina defender Cirillo (pictured) has taken the ferry in the opposite direction.
Free from his contract with Reggina after their relegation, the 32-year-old has penned a two-year contract with PAOK Salonicco.
It is actually a comeback for Cirillo, who had already played for AEK Athens from 2005 to 2007.
