Brazilian wunderkind Anderson Hernanes admits he’d be “honoured” to play in Serie A with Inter and Milan the favourites.
The Sao Paolo starlet was recommended to Italian clubs by Selecao boss Carlos Dunga and has been tipped as a replacement for Chelsea-bound Andrea Pirlo.
“I am a player who loves to think on the field. I’ve understood that in every pass there is the time to evaluate the best thing to do,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I am without doubt pleased to be compared to Pirlo. He is the complete player and probably the best midfielder in the world.
“Every time that I have seen him play I’ve been truly impressed with the way he treats the ball and places his assists. He’s a fantastic player.”
Hernanes topped the Times’ list of best world players under the age of 23 back in February and
It’s believed this could be the summer that brings him to Europe, with San Siro his most likely destination.
“I watch a lot of Serie A football, mostly Inter and Milan because there are so many Brazilians. It would be an honour and a pleasure to play in Italy one day.
“That would be a dream, but I have to stay focused and my current ambitions are the Libertadores and a place in the World Cup in South Africa.”
