If Cristiano Ronaldo leaves for Real Madrid, Manchester United apparently plan to spend some of the money from his transfer on Roma striker Mirko Vucinic.
The English champions look set for an £80m windfall and are ready to reinforce their squad with a number of high profile signings.
Franck Ribery and Karim Benzema have been strongly linked with the Red Devils, but Vucinic has been on their shortlist for a while now.
Earlier this season, the Montenegro international revealed how United came in with an offer for him last summer.
Roma rejected the bid and soon after United turned their attention to Bulgaria international Dimitar Berbatov.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed his best ever season in Roma colours, scoring 17 goals in 36 appearances.
Despite being in some financial difficulty, the Giallorossi are reluctant to sell Vucinic, who recently penned a new four-year deal.
However, Roma would consider an offer of between £25 and £28m for Vucinic, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
