Rossi looks for another job
Wednesday 10 June, 2009

Delio Rossi is on the look out for another job just days after announcing his decision to leave Lazio.

The 48-year-old won the Coppa Italia this season, but that victory was not enough to save his place on the Biancocelesti's bench.

The former Atalanta Coach is unlikely to be short of offers and has already received a proposal from Torino, according to Tuttosport.

“I have never spoken with Urbano Cairo. We have heard from his collaborators and I showed them some hesitation, not because of the place because Turin intrigues me a lot, but for the fact that at the moment I don't feel like starting again in Serie B.”

Rossi also ruled out the prospect of taking his services abroad.

“It's a scenario that I have never taken into consideration. I like Italy and I would like to stay here, even if I understand that there are these possibilities in world football.

“You would need to turn your life around and then it all depends on the scenario that could happen.

“But I am against those who prefer England. I thank again the Salerno and Lazio fans for the tributes that they have sent me.

“Those are the kinds of things that make you happy because a trainer has to leave a mark beyond the football his side plays and the results they obtain. We are men before we are professionals,” he explained.

Rossi then had a few tough words to say on Kaka, who left Milan for Real Madrid in the early hours of yesterday morning.

“I find it difficult thinking about players, who have renewed their contracts three months ago and then go to play for another side.

“We lose out from a technical point of view, but Italy needs people who are an example and in this case Kaka is not one to follow,” he concluded.
