Marcello Lippi wants Italian players to stay in Italy rather than abroad, as it enriches Serie A and makes his job easier.
Yesterday, the 61-year-old World Cup winner said he was glad Kaka left Milan for Real Madrid because it meant one less foreigner in Serie A.
I will not allow myself to give advice to any of our clubs when it comes to the transfer market, Lippi said.
But I have told the players who are here with me to try and stay in the Italian championship. Jokingly I add that this way they save La Nazionale money on flights, but in reality the more Italians I have in our championship the better.
Italy are in South Africa preparing for the Confederations Cup. Tonight they face New Zealand in a friendly.
