Tuesday 7 July, 2009 | | Porto full-back Aly Cissokho has denied reports claiming the state of his teeth scuppered a lucrative transfer to Milan.
The 21-year-old Frenchman visited Milan and appeared to have signed for £13m only for the club's medics to break off the deal.
The Italian Press claimed doctors diagnosed a future hernia problem just by looking at Cissokho's teeth.
Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani then blamed the deal's failure on Porto, who refused to accept a reduction in his transfer fee.
It's not true. I haven't a problem with my teeth, Cissokho told L'Equipe.
There was an economic problem between the two Presidents and to cover this up they said false things about me.
It wasn't good for my image. Now I am waiting to know my future. The two clubs are continuing to talk, he revealed.
Asked if he had heard of interest from Milan's rivals Inter, Cissokho replied: I don't know. I prefer not to say anything. The market is still long.
