Tuesday 7 July, 2009 | | Fabio Cannavaro believes Juventus are no longer inferior to Italian champions Inter following a promising start in the transfer market.
The Italy captain arrived last month along with Diego and more players look set to follow, most notably Fiorentina's Felipe Melo.
We hear of Melo, D'Agostino and Diarra. In short, we are talking about great players. All worthy of Juventus, Cannavaro told Radio Kiss Kiss.
With the signings we have made up until now I believe we can play with Inter until the end. We want to improve with respect to last season, even if Inter's squad is still more competitive.
It's a five-year plan. We need to develop the youngsters with great tranquillity because otherwise we risk doing like last year when the results didn't arrive and there was a protest, Cannavaro explained.
Asked about Napoli, who rejected the chance to sign him earlier this summer, Cannavaro said: The Neapolitan fans are passionate, but a project cannot develop on that alone.
