Despite assurances from the local media that a deal is done, Porto insist they have not even received Inter’s offer for Ricardo Quaresma.
“At the moment we have not received any official offers for him,” announced President Pinto Da Costa in newspaper A Bola.
“Has the player expressed his intention to leave? I have not heard any request.”
Only this morning another Portuguese paper, Correio da Manha, maintained a £19m deal had been struck between the two clubs.
The 24-year-old still has a contract tying him to Porto until 2011, but is eager to test himself elsewhere.
He had been linked with Chelsea, but Felipe Scolari’s refusal to use him as anything other than a reserve in Austria and Switzerland this summer scuppered that plan.
Instead Quaresma wishes to reunite with his former Porto boss Jose Mourinho at Inter and his name was at the top of the new Nerazzurri boss’ transfer wish-list.
