Matteo Ferrari’s switch to Besiktas has hit a snag, as the Turks warn he won’t leave Genoa without receiving a bonus.
“There is a problem between the player and his club,” stated Besiktas President Yidrim Demorian.
“We have already reached an agreement with him, but until he resolves this issue with Genoa, then he won’t put pen to paper on the contract.
“We believe he told his club that he would only leave after receiving the money.”
It’s reported that the defender wants a bonus to quit Serie A and move to Turkey, but it is also rumoured that Genoa owe Ferrari wages.
The 29-year-old is preparing for his second overseas experience after spells at Inter, Lecce, Bari, Parma, Roma, Everton and Genoa.
