Newly promoted Lecce are being linked with a swoop for former Messina and Fiorentina striker Christian Riganò.
The Salentini are looking to strengthen after winning last seasons Serie B play-offs and need to replace hitman Elvis Abbruscato, who left for Torino.
Reports suggest that Lecce have already come to an agreement with Pisa for Argentine hitman José Ignacio Castillo.
The 32-year-old blasted a stunning 21 goals for the Tuscan minnows last term and may have earned his first shot at Serie A after seven years in calcios basement.
But the Apulian outfit are looking for further additions to their arsenal and could offer a deal to free agent Riganò.
At the age of 34, Riganò is looking for a fresh challenge after cancelling his contract with Spanish side Levante yesterday.
The Messina native spent the end of last season on loan to Siena but failed to make any great impact at the Montepaschi Arena.
The most prolific spell in Riganòs career was spent at Fiorentina shortly after the Violas exile to Serie C2 when he found the net 57 times in 94 games on the way back to the top flight.
