Roma are the first team in Serie A to start training ahead of next season, gathering at Trigoria before flying to Riscone di Brunico.
The desire to avoid a repeat of last season's disappointing sixth place finish and the early start of the Europa League informed Roma's decision.
Riscone di Brunico has a special meaning to Roma, as Nils Liedholm using to take his teams there in the `70s and `80s.
In other news, Il Corriere dello Sport understands Roma have to come out of the transfer window £25m in the black.
To do this, the Giallorossi will probably sell Julio Baptista to Panathinaikos and Jeremy Menez to Marseille.
The two sales are expected to generate £17m in transfer revenue and money saved on wages.
Francesco Totti is one of the few regulars who will start training today.
The 32-year-old has yet to renew his contract, but has faith in the promises made to him by the club's directors.
Totti's current deal runs out at the end of next season and he will be able to talk to interested parties in six months time.
The captain is willing to take a pay cut on a five-year deal to help Roma through these difficult economic times.
