Milan could be forced to return to the transfer market after key defender Alessandro Nesta reported a back problem.
The Rossoneri believed that they had completed their summer spending with the arrival of Ronaldinho.
However, the Diavolo are still short of options in defence in spite of the signature of Azzurri stopper Gianluca Zambrotta.
With the news that Nesta is suffering from pain in his upper back, the Corriere dello Sport insists that Milan will look for a possible replacement.
The world champions had been linked with former Roma stopper Matteo Ferrari in recent months, but they never made any concrete approach for the free agent.
