Dinho's message to Kaka and Barca
Tuesday 22 July, 2008

Ronaldinho writes an open letter to Barcelona and flies out to Beijing with a message for Chelsea target Kaka - Be here when I get back!

“I hope Kaka can stay at Milan for as long as possible, because we're going to have great fun together,” Dinho told Sky Italia.

The reigning European and World Player of the Year has been the subject of reported £120m bids from Chelsea, but the club has refused to sell at any price.

The Rossoneri have finally been able to connect the Brazilian trio of Kaka, Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato for the 2008-09 season.

“Milan is not just Ronaldinho-Kaka-Pato, but a whole team, so it isn't right to keep focusing only on us.”

The fans certainly have been, as today another 2,000 season tickets have been sold for a total of 27,028.

Dinho will miss the summer friendlies, as he will fly out to Beijing to play with Pato in Brazil's Olympic squad.

Barcelona had banned him from attending the tournament, but the £18m move to Milan changed that situation and Dinho decided to write an open letter to his former club.

“First of all, I would like to say how grateful I am to the Barcelona fans,” said the statement written on the official Milan website.

“I was very happy in every moment at Barcelona, because the people were always very affectionate. I felt accompanied on this journey and that sensation is what gave me strength at every moment.

“I had joy playing for Barca and loved to give the fans the same feeling. I remain with the thought I can some day salute the Camp Nou.

“I am joining a great club, but with a certain sense of sadness at leaving those places where I had happy moments and celebrations.

“We Brazilians play football in a way to make other people happy. That was one of my objectives and I can say I'm satisfied to have achieved that.”

Ronaldinho went on to thank all his teammates, Coaches, medical staff and everyone who worked at the club, as “they too are part of every triumph.

“I was happy with Barcelona and in Barcelona. I will carry all of that in my heart with great affection.

“Football is a game, a party, a sport to enjoy and to give joy. You have to play football with a smile, that's what it means to me. Thank you for having smiled with me.”
