Intermediary Ernesto Bronzetti reveals just how close Ronaldinho came to missing out on Milan for Manchester City.
This was the most difficult negotiation I have ever overseen, said the FIFA agent and expert on Spanish transfers.
He was in the decisive meetings between Milan general manager Adriano Galliani, Barcelona President Joan Laporta and agent Roberto De Assis.
Barcelona had decided to sell Ronaldinho to Manchester City for £25m against the £15.8m offered by the Rossoneri.
Their plan was to hand Samuel Eto'o to Milan for that sum instead. But at the end of the day, it all went well.
Ronaldinho rejected the lucrative proposal from Manchester City, as he always wanted to join the Serie A side instead.
It was in fact thanks to the Brazilian foregoing his cut of the transfer fee that Milan were able to mount a winning £18m bid.
