Just hours after No 1 transfer target Edin Dzeko said he would be staying at Wolfsburg, Milan have contacted Sevilla's Luis Fabiano about a move to San Siro.
The Rossoneri are trying to do things quickly in this summer's transfer market so new Coach Leonardo has time to prepare the team ahead of next season.
Earlier this week, Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani said he would give Dzeko until Wednesday to explain his intentions.
Yesterday the 23-year-old Bosnia striker told the Press he would stay loyal to Wolfsburg and see out the rest of his contract.
In a heartbeat, it seems, Milan have now turned their attention to Fabiano, who was arguably the best player at the Confederations Cup.
The 28-year-old scored five goals, two of which actually knocked Italy out of the competition.
La Gazzetta dello Sport understands Milan have registered their interest in Fabiano, who reportedly has a buyout clause in his contract worth £25m.
Fabiano recently said it would be 'a dream' to play for the Rossoneri.
