Jimenez: Gracias Inter
Saturday 19 July, 2008

Luis Jimenez has thanked Inter for buying half his contract and hopes to become 100 per cent Nerazzurri in a year’s time.

The Chilean had been on loan from Ternana last season and negotiations dragged on longer than expected, but earlier this week the two clubs agreed to split his contract.

“I thank Inter for their faith in me,” said the former Lazio creative midfielder.

“In this second season here I must try to convince the club to buy up the other half of my contract, too.

“I think I did well when called upon, even if there weren’t that many opportunities for me.”

With Roberto Mancini gone, Jimenez hopes to work his magic on new boss Jose Mourinho.

“I realise it will be difficult this year, as there are many strikers in the squad, so unless the Coach wants to try me out as a midfielder it’ll be tough to find a place.”
