Dinho: I'm living Milan dream
Thursday 17 July, 2008

Ronaldinho has given his first official interview as a Milan player and described his transfer to San Siro as “a dream come true.”

The Brazilian ace completed a move from Barcelona late on Tuesday night, prompting jubilant scenes in Italy’s fashion capital.

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani signed the last of the forms live on the Milan Channel this evening.

And at the Press conference that followed, Ronaldinho buzzed with a contagious enthusiasm.

“It is a special moment in my career,” he began. “Every player dreams of playing for Milan and now that is my reality. It is a unique emotion and I really hope to make the fans happy.

“I had a good spell at Barcelona and we won important trophies, but after such recent disappointment both sides thought it was right to split.

“It will be enjoyable to play alongside Kaka because he is amongst the best in the world. He is a friend and we play well together for Brazil.

“I am in good physical condition and I can play 40-45 games for Milan.”

Dinho will be leaving Milan to join Brazil’s squad for the Olympic Games next month – something that Kaka was not allowed to do.

“Brazil have never won the Olympic football title and it would be important for me,” the Milan newcomer explained. “I made the agreement that I could play there before I joined Milan.”

The arrival of Ronaldinho has caused hysteria amongst the Diavolo faithful and a surge in season ticket sales.

“I want to thank the fans for the way that they have greeted me. It is an added incentive to do well,” Dinho said.

“Serie A is amongst the most competitive Leagues in the world, but I think it will go well.

“I have arrived here looking to win. I feel a lot more mature than I was in the past but I am still young and ready to give my all.”
