Fiorentina have officially announced the signature of Milan goalkeeper Marco Storari on loan for the coming campaign.
In Sebastien Frey, the Viola have one of the safest pairs of hands in Serie A, but they have been lacking a reliable understudy.
Storari started last season at Levante on loan but moved to Cagliari to finish the season with the Sardinians.
The 31-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements at San Siro as he is behind Nelson Dida, Zeljko Kalac and Christian Abbiati in the pecking order and has opted to provide cover in Tuscany instead.
“Fiorentina want to announce the temporary signature of Storari from Milan,” a statement on the Gigliati’s website reads.
“He will be presented to the Press tomorrow at 11am at the Viola’s pre-season training camp in Castelrotto.”
