Jose: Lamps is unique
Friday 11 July, 2008

Jose Mourinho is desperate to add Frank Lampard to his Inter squad despite the obstacles to a transfer.

The Nerazzurri have signed Roma’s Amantino Mancini, but their main target for the summer is Chelsea star Lampard.

While the England international’s West London employers are reluctant to let him leave, Mourinho has his heart set on linking up with Lampard again.

“He is the best professional I have ever worked with,” the Portuguese tactician told Feelfootball.com.

“He is a different kind of person and not so extrovert. He is the best in training and he shows the greatest concentration and works hard to improve.

“He is never satisfied with his performances and he always wants to learn new things.

“If he makes a mistake in a game he will stay an hour longer in training to practise that particular situation.

“I remember once he missed a difficult volley from the left and the day after he stayed behind to improve his strike.

“He has a different mentality to other players and that’s why his quality is durable.”
