Lazzari enjoys Serie A return
Thursday 10 July, 2008

Andrea Lazzari has completed a move from Atalanta to Cagliari and is delighted with his fresh start.

The former Azzurrini midfielder spent last season on loan to Grosseto in Serie B, but he was called back to Bergamo to be sold to Cagliari.

“It’s great to return to Serie A,” the 23-year-old enthused.

“I have to thank the atmosphere in Grosseto as that spell gave me confidence after a year that didn’t go so well.

“Naturally I also want to thank Cagliari. They only contacted me four days ago.

“At first I hadn’t heard anything but the newspaper rumours. The Press said that several teams were interested, but Cagliari wanted me most.”

Lazzari feels that he can play a few different roles for the Isolani’s new boss Massimiliano Allegri.

“I can play as a first or second striker, a winger or a central midfielder,” he explained.

“Wherever the Coach puts me I will adapt. Last year at Grosseto I was one of a three-man midfield. I want to give my all and see what happens.”
