There are reports in Italy that Inter are lining up a sensational swoop for Sampdoria star man Antonio Cassano.
The Italian champions are six points clear at the top of Serie A, but their attacking line hasn't always convinced.
With Brazilian enigma Adriano still showing a lack of commitment to the cause, there have been reports that the Nerazzurri are looking for a replacement.
Inter have approached Genoa in a bid to sign 12-goal ace Diego Milito, but they have been told he isn't for sale.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Beneamata are now considering a bumper bid for fiery marksman Cassano.
Sampdoria are determined to keep hold of the Bari native and Inter may have to table an offer of around £15m.
There are suggestions that Mario Balotelli may be offered as a bargaining chip as the young gun has failed to impress Jose Mourinho.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the two clubs have already begun provisional negotiations and that President Massimo Moratti has suggested the transfer to Mourinho.
Many expect Cassano to wear the Juventus shirt after he becomes a free agent in 2010.
