Inter continue to be linked with Genoa striking star Diego Milito and could use their financial clout to launch an audacious bid.
Milito has proved to be one of the signings of the summer and has bagged a phenomenal 12 goals since returning to Genoa from Real Zaragoza.
With the future of Adriano up in the air, Genoa chief Enrico Preziosi confirmed that Inter had approached him about the availability of the Argentine ace.
Preziosi has stressed that he doesn't intend to part with Milito at any price, but La Gazzetta dello Sport insists that Inter haven't given up hope of luring him.
The crucial factor could be Milito's wage bill. Genoa are reportedly struggling to meet his demands of £2.2m per season, whereas Inter could offer a pay rise.
Preziosi may eventually be tempted to agree to a deal with either Victor Obinna or Mario Balotelli heading in the other direction.
