Kaka and Clarence Seedorf trust David Beckham won’t upset Milan’s locker room balance. “He’s a disaster!” joked the Dutchman.
There were fears that Beckham’s media presence and arrival on loan for only two months might cause more problems than it would solve in the Rossoneri squad.
“Clearly everyone has their own way of doing things and their own place in the side,” explained Kaka on the official club website.
“But the true strength of a side like Milan is that we never have problems with jealousy or envy within the squad.”
Seedorf decided to joke about the rumours that the stars were unhappy at Golden Balls sweeping in to steal the limelight.
“I know he’ll be a total disaster for us! He’s incapable of settling into the team and is causing us loads of problems every day!” laughed the Dutch midfielder.
“No, the truth is he’s fantastic, a great professional and a man of the world, like me, so he has social intelligence and the ability to fit quickly into a new environment.
“It is also fair to say that our team is good at helping newcomers feel welcome straight away. I think we’ll need a little patience and not expect too much of him immediately, because even experienced players require time to settle in.
“Unfortunately, time is not something Beckham has a lot of here. We’ll do everything we can to ensure he becomes an added bonus for the side during the brief period he is with us.”
Beckham is on loan from LA Galaxy and, although the contract lasts until June 30, Milan have a “gentlemen’s agreement” to release him on March 9 for the start of the MLS season.
The England international is expected to make his debut in a Rossoneri jersey in Tuesday’s friendly against Hamburg.
