David Beckham gave a Press conference in Dubai confirming “I am ready to play right now for the best club in the world.”
There were fears over his fitness levels after a lay-off for the MLS close season, but he impressed in training and Carlo Ancelotti suggested he’d play in the January 11 Serie A clash with Roma.
“I am always ready but it's up to the Coach to decide,” noted the England international this evening.
“Physically I know I have to work hard to reach 100%, I want to play well instead of just play.”
Beckham is only with Milan until March 9, but has hinted he would have liked to remain for longer at San Siro.
“I love my team Los Angeles Galaxy, but for me this is a great experience. Not everyone has managed to play in what everyone considers the best club in the world.
“I feel lucky to have this extraordinary chance. I don't like to think about the past, I have made all my choices with care, including the one to go to America.
“I lived a great period there but now I am here, it's extraordinary and now I just want to concentrate on this.”
Beckham was photographed looking very tired during the gruelling training sessions in Dubai, but insists he is in good shape.
“The training these days has been tough, but I like working hard. I am learning about Italian football and my team mates are exceptional.”
Victoria was in Dubai last night for a gala dinner set out by Milan’s sponsors in Dubai in the Harbour Hotel.
“Everyone knows how much I love my family and my kids, but I also love football. The children will stay in Los Angeles for school and Victoria will stay with them.
“She will come to visit me in Milan as soon as possible, and when she will she will stay with me for a few days.”
