David Beckham has impressed Carlo Ancelotti so much that the Milan Coach assures “he is ready to play against Roma.”
There were question marks over the LA Galaxy man’s fitness during this loan spell and he appeared very tired after this week’s training sessions in Dubai, but Ancelotti paints a different picture.
“David is straining as much as everyone else. We are working very hard and on top of that he hasn’t played for two months before joining us, but he underwent all our tests and is in good condition.
“He is lacking a little strength, but this is also normal considering the long lay-off. He will play in our friendly against Hamburg.
“Will he play against Roma? He is ready to do so, why ever wouldn’t he be?”
The Rossoneri do not have an official match until January 11, when they travel to the Stadio Olimpico against Roma.
That could well be Beckham’s Serie A debut if Ancelotti is ready to throw him in at the deep end.
There is little choice otherwise, as Becks is only with Milan until March 9, when he will return to LA Galaxy for the MLS season.
Clarence Seedorf is also recovering from injury and will be ready to take on Roma, but Daniele Bonera and Marco Borriello won’t make it.
