As expected, Fiorentina have sent defender Manuel Da Costa to Sampdoria on loan.
The new No 77 has been cooling his heels on the Stadio Artemio Franchi bench this season, but was in demand in the transfer window.
He joined the Viola from PSV in January 2008 after the Tuscans beat Milan, Inter and Juventus to the punch.
Despite a late effort from Bologna to lure the 23-year-old, Da Costa has completed his temporary move to Sampdoria.
Da Costa is expected to arrive in Genoa this afternoon and will travel to Chievo with his new side.
Sampdoria have already signed Cagliari defender Michele Ferri in the last 24 hours.
