Zenit St Petersburg are reported to have launched a bid of around £10m for the services of Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta.
The UEFA Cup holders have long been on the 29-year-olds tracks and are looking to strengthen their side as Andrei Arshavins exit nears.
Iaquinta has started on just four occasions for Juventus this season and has fallen behind Amauri in the pecking order up front.
The World Cup winner remains sharp, though, and came off the bench to score a consolation goal last night as Juventus lost away to his former club, Udinese.
Meanwhile, Juventus director of sport Alessio Secco confirmed that the Bianconeri are in the market for a winger.
The Turin giants have recently been linked with a move for Chelseas Florent Malouda. However, Secco has other targets in mind.
He is not the player that we are looking for, revealed Secco. We will not buy anyone at the moment.
We are evaluating the market for a left winger. We have a group of names, but Maloudas is not one of them.
Juventus have also set their sights on CSKA Moscow wide-man Yuri Zhirkov and Udinese attacker Fabio Quagliarella.
The Bianconeri are second in Serie A, but remain six points behind leaders Inter. They are back in action this weekend when they host Cagliari. |
