Galliani: We want to buy Beckham
Tuesday 27 January, 2009

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani claims that David Beckham wants to stay on at San Siro after March and is ready to open the Rossoneri wallet.

Beckham is scheduled to return to LA Galaxy in March to begin the MLS season, but he seems to have settled in Milan.

LA Galaxy boss Bruce Arena has responded angrily to suggestions Beckham could stay in Italy, but Galliani isn't hiding his intentions.

“If the Galaxy can be persuaded then we will evaluate the situation and try and keep him,” Galliani said on Sky Sport Italia.

“We will have to wait and see what happens because if Beckham frees himself from his contract then we will be waiting with open arms.

“The player wants to stay with us, but he knows that he has to return. He would be happy to stay here because he has returned to a big club.

“Beckham and his representatives know that Milan are willing to buy him on a permanent basis,” he concluded.
