| Albertini: No ref conspiracy |

The Vice-President of the Italian FA, Demetrio Albertini, does not see a plot behind the recent spate of refereeing mistakes in Serie A.
Several games were blighted by poor officiating at the weekend, most notably that between Juventus and Fiorentina.
I saw technical errors beyond any prejudice, said Albertini. I did not see plots. Only errors. There were different mistakes.
I know there is rhetoric, but there always have been. We make mistakes, as do players. It can happen to referees, too.
Albertini also passed comment on Roma defender Christian Panucci who refused to sit on the bench on Sunday and demanded to leave the Giallorossi.
I know him, revealed Albertini, who played with Panucci at Milan. I know how he reacts to the decisions of the trainer.
His behaviour can be considered disrespectful towards his teammates, but I know Christian. And I know that he will clarify everything with them.
Panucci has today been linked with a move to Torino. Juventus were also reportedly interested in the 35-year-old but have formally denied making a move for him. |
