Werder Bremen have taken Brazilian star Diego off the transfer market, dealing Juventus and Manchester City a blow.
The 23-year-old fantasista has long been linked with a move to Turin as a successor to Alessandro Del Piero.
Klaus Allofs, Werder Bremens director of sport, today told German daily Bild that his future lies with Die Grün-Weiben.
Diego has a contract until 2011 and we want to keep him, said Allofs. He is absolutely not for sale.
Juventus were reported to have offered the German outfit £25m for the former Santos midfielder who, incidentally, has an Italian passport.
Diego has lit up the Bundesliga since joining Bremen from Porto in 2006. He has scored eight goals in 12 appearances for the Green and Whites this season.
The Bianconeri have now turned their attention to tying down their own youngsters and are reportedly about to offer Claudio Marchisio a new contract.
The 23-year-old midfielder is fast becoming a regular in the first team and scored the winner in Juventus 1-0 win over Fiorentina on Saturday night.
