Inter winger Amantino Mancini believes the Nerazzurri have turned a corner after their victory against Sampdoria last night.
Inter returned to the top of Serie A after beating the Blucerchiati 1-0 thanks to a goal from troubled striker Adriano.
It was a good performance, chirped Mancini. I ran a lot because I havent started as a regular for three months.
I played in a role that I am not used to [second striker], but it was positive that I tried to score a goal. The most important thing is we won a difficult game but the championship is still long.
Inter have been in something of a crisis lately after they drew to Cagliari and lost to Atalanta, allowing their rivals Juventus to make up significant ground.
Victories in difficult moments are important. These three points give us morale, added Mancini, before returning to comment on his future with the Nerazzurri.
I dont want to go away, I have only been here six months and have four years left on my contract. I am happy to be here even if I dont play as much as I thought I would.
Mancini joined Inter from Roma in the summer, but has struggled to make an impact at San Siro ever since Coach Jose Mourinho changed the system from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2.
I am not used to playing 4-4-2. Its hard work. But we play like this at the moment and I have to adapt myself.
Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar was also convinced that the Nerazzurri have put their worries behind them with victory against Sampdoria.
I was without work for the entire game, he said. But in the great teams you always have to be ready when the right shot arrives.
They are three important points. There were two games that we didnt win and now we have re-found confidence.
The leaders are always under pressure, but its been like this for Inter for three years. We are still strong. And then the direct encounters with our rivals will tell all.
Inter are three points ahead of second placed Juventus and are back in action on Wednesday when they face Catania in Sicily.
