Ranieri's pre-Viola injury update
Friday 23 January, 2009

Juventus Coach Claudio Ranieri has given an update on the Old Lady's injury problems ahead of the visit of Fiorentina.

The Bianconeri were held by Lazio last weekend and missed a great chance to increase the pressure on leaders Inter, who slipped up against Atalanta.

“I don't want to get involved in other people's business,” Ranieri insisted when asked about Inter's slump.

“When a Coach changes teams or countries it takes a bit of time, just like it did for me overseas.

“I expected Inter to be full of quality, but things can't always go right for anyone. We all have difficult moments, even Roma, Milan, Fiorentina and ourselves.

“We won't look to Inter's result this weekend because we will be focused on Fiorentina.

Ranieri's men have been dealing with a host of absentees in recent weeks, but some key personnel are on the way back.

“Gigi Buffon can play from the start,” Ranieri revealed.

“Giorgio Chiellini won't play, but it's only a matter of time because the indications are good and he has got past the main phase of the injury.

“We have often spoken about our injury problems, but we are just doing what we always have done and we can't understand why we are getting all these injuries.

Momo Sissoko and Cristian Molinaro are suspended, but Czech defender Zdenek Grygera is back from his ban.

David Trezeguet is still sidelined alongside Jonathan Zebina, Dario Knezevic, Hasan Salihamidzic, Mauro Camoranesi and Vincenzo Iaquinta.
