Biagianti in shop window
Tuesday 20 January, 2009

Catania midfielder Marco Biagianti is ready to leave the Stadio Massimino with Fiorentina the likely destination, but he has been a target for Milan.

The 24-year-old has made a name for himself with the Elefanti and is hoping to complete a transfer to one of the peninsula's biggest sides.

Fiorentina are expected to make a concrete approach in due course, but it seems they may have competition for his signature.

“He is set to leave Catania,” agent Roberto La Florio told Sportal.it.

“The deal will probably be done in June, but it's not impossible that he could relocate during January.

“There are at least a couple of medium-sized clubs after him and looking to move forward with negotiations. Milan were also after him as well as some other big sides.”

Milan may look for a replacement for injured Azzurri star Gennaro Gattuso, who is out for the rest of the season.
