Armani: Sell Milan, not Kaka
Monday 19 January, 2009

Legendary fashion designer Giorgio Armani would rather see Milan sell every other member of their team instead of Kaka.

The 74-year-old is adamant Milan can’t afford to part with the Brazilian, not even for the £107m offered by Manchester City.

“I would rather tell [Adriano] Galliani to sell all of Milan. It’s pointless to get rid of the single most important piece,” he said.

“Economically, it’s a possibility that will probably never happen again, neither to him, nor Milan. But this amount of money for such a young boy…

“The whole system is wrong. People pay stupid amounts of money for actors, photographers and other professionals. It’s not good.

“I would be sorry to see Kaka leave,” concluded Armani, who has used the 26-year-old in several of his fashion campaigns.

“We have a splendid relationship with Kaka and his wife. They are exquisite people. But I understand that an offer of this genre…”

Kaka, whose father is set for talks with the San Siro outfit this afternoon, is expected to make a decision today as to whether he will stay at Milan or leave for Manchester City.
