Roma defender Christian Panucci will renew his contract with the club so long as he is guaranteed a regular place in the first team.
The 35-year-olds current deal expires in the summer and he does not plan to announce his retirement anytime soon.
I am well and, if I could, I would stay in the capital, said Panucci. Also because, at my age, relocations are uncomfortable.
I have never liked to go on the bench. I hope to stay. As for the rest, I am open to whatever solution presents itself.
The former Milan and Real Madrid man went on to say that if he did not want to play he would have stayed at one of his old clubs.
I would have made a wonderful little statue at Milan or Real, he joked. I expect Roma to call me in the next few days.
Panucci has made 11 appearances for Roma in Serie A this season, 10 of which have come as a starter.
