A delegation of Sampdoria Ultras met with Coach Walter Mazzarri and director of sport Giuseppe Marotta after the Blucerchiati lost at home to Palermo on Sunday.
The 2-0 defeat is Samps third in a row at Marassi, leaving the club fifteenth in the table, just five points above the relegation zone.
It was a civil confrontation, said a calm and collected Marotta. It allowed us to explain ourselves to the fans.
Their behaviour demonstrates their love for the shirt, a shirt that the players have to honour until the final whistle of every game.
Sampdoria midfielder Angelo Palombo also defended the fans actions, insisting that the team needs to do more.
They asked us to work a lot harder, explained Palombo, who started his first game since November against Palermo. And they are right.
Antonio Cassano disagrees, though. The Barese was upset after the game, as the fans had booed his every touch.
Why do you whistle? Cassano asked. What exactly are you whistling at? You dont do it, you just dont do that.
Sampdoria will be looking to get their season back on track next weekend when they travel to League leaders Inter who lost 3-1 at Atalanta on Sunday.
