| Rossi: Perfect not enough for Juve |
Sunday 18 January, 2009 |

Delio Rossi fears he'll need to see Lazio at 110 per cent in order to see off Juventus this evening and gives his view on the Kaka saga. The Biancocelesti have won two on the trot, but come up against a side just four points off the top of the table. It will be a very entertaining game, smiled the Coach. Juventus are a tough opponent who know how to combine technique with physical strength, but we are here to play our football. Will we need a perfect performance? I hope that will be enough
We've got to play at 110 per cent, both tactically and technically above our capabilities. We cannot afford any distractions, because in this type of match you pay a heavy price. Rossi has taken Lazio to the European spaces despite a limited budget, but has always struggled in the big games with Milan, Inter and Juve. It does not weigh on my shoulders that I have never beaten one of the giants. Every game is separate and has its own story. As with everyone in Italian football, Rossi was asked what he thought of the £108m offer for Kaka, plus £500,000 per week wages, which some dubbed 'immoral' in the current financial crisis. If that offer is in place, then it is very difficult for a club to turn it down. They have to consider it not once, but many times over. There is also the problem that if a lad gives up this opportunity, the issue would arise about what it would take to keep him there. Is it an immoral offer? I find it more immoral that a Serie C2 player on average earns £1,500 a month and cannot support his family of two children. |
