Ronaldinho begs Kaka to stay
Saturday 17 January, 2009

Ronaldinho has begged Kaka to reject Manchester City’s record-shattering bid in order to build more Milan success.

One of the reasons behind the former Barcelona man’s move to San Siro this summer was to work with fellow Brazilians Kaka and Alexandre Pato, so he turned down a bigger offer from City.

“The chance of Kaka leaving is a disaster because we need him desperately to win more titles at this club,” Ronaldinho was quoted as saying in the Daily Star.

“I have known Ricky for some years and I am convinced that money will not be the major reason why he would leave Milan.

“It is not up to the Milan players what he does but we are desperate for him to stay. He seems very calm so I hope that is a sign that he is staying.

“None of us want him to leave. He is so important for us. He will succeed wherever he goes because he is a monster in football. But he is a symbol of Milan.

“We need him to stay. I can understand that Robinho and Jo would want him to go to Manchester City, but we want to be back in the Champions League and we need him to do that.’’

If it goes through, this £108m deal will double the previous world record transfer for Zinedine Zidane.

Kaka is set to start tonight’s game against Fiorentina and will be greeted by a huge fan protest.
