Maldini fears Kaka loss
Friday 16 January, 2009

Milan captain Paolo Maldini has admitted that it would be a huge blow to lose Kaka.

Manchester City have launched an audacious bid of around £100m to try and lure the 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year.

Reports suggest that Milan are close to accepting the offer and that the transfer will rest on the player's choice of club, but the Rossoneri insists they are still “weighing up” the proposal.

“The decision rests with the club, but I can only stress that Kaka is very important and that his exit would be hugely negative,” Maldini is quoted as saying in the Daily Mail.

“This deal sounds incredible to me. No player is worth this much, not even Cristiano Ronaldo. But he seems pretty calm about everything.”

Should Kaka complete the move to Eastlands he would become the highest earner in world football.
