Bayern Munich's Milan-owned defender Massimo Oddo hopes to break into Marcello Lippi's Italy squad for World Cup 2010, but admits it's unlikely.
The former Lazio man left Milan for a season at the Allianz Arena last summer and has flourished in the Bundesliga.
While Oddo's days in La Nazionale may be up with 34 caps to his name, he is trying to win Lippi over.
In all honesty I don't think I will re-enter Lippi's plans because he would have called me like he did with other players, Oddo confessed to Calcio 2000.
However, I will do my best to try and change his opinion by giving my all for Bayern Munich.
I am enjoying life here and I think the Germany side will be tough to beat at World Cup 2010 - they will be their usual solid selves.
Oddo is due to return to San Siro at the end of the season, but he has indicated that he would be happy to stay with Bayern.
