Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has admitted that unsettled strikers Giampaolo Pazzini and Pablo Daniel Osvaldo both want to leave.
With Adrian Mutu and Alberto Gilardino forming a fearsome strike partnership at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, places in the starting 11 are hard to come by for attackers.
Pazzini and Osvaldo have had limited roles this term and it seems that they are pushing for a fresh start.
I can safely say that both Pazzini and Osvaldo have asked to move on, Corvino told the Corriere dello Sport.
I understand their needs and we will have to give careful consideration to the situation.
But we are still the same Fiorentina and we won't be giving our players away.
Fiorentina started 2009 badly with an unexpected 2-1 defeat at home to Lecce, but Corvino is still confident.
This squad is excellent, he said. We have firm foundations and we can build from here to try and win our third Scudetto.
It's a difficult objective and I won't lie to our supporters about that, but we must keep on dreaming because that's where our strength comes from.
