Roma captain Francesco Totti is aiming to return from injury in time for Week 20's trip to Napoli.
The Giallorossi talisman has been out of action since picking up a thigh strain in the final game of 2008 against Catania.
Initially there were fears that Totti could be out of action until mid-February, but he is back in training and plans to return ahead of schedule.
I ended 2008 with a muscular injury, but I'm doing my best to recover as quickly as possible, Totti told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The results from the latest medical tests were positive and I am back working with a ball, but I will only be at Luciano Spalletti's disposal when I am fully fit.
I hope to be back in action against Napoli, but I don't want to face the same kind of expectations I had when I returned from my knee injury.
Totti was out for the first six weeks of the campaign due to anterior cruciate ligament damage suffered last April when playing against Livorno.
