Milan superstar Kaka has tipped compatriot Alexandre Pato to follow in his footsteps by winning the FIFA World Player of the Year award one day.
Kaka won the prize in 2007 and is amongst the nominees this time around, but Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the two favourites for this evening's decision.
Pato hit a crucial double in Milan's 2-2 draw with Roma that started 2009 and Kaka expects a glorious future for the ex-Internacional man.
There are always new players reaching the top in football and I'm sure Pato will be in my position one day, Kaka told FIFA.com.
Alexandre is extremely talented and is getting lots of experience at a young age. He will win the FIFA World Player of the Year one day.
I have had the honour of winning the award and it is a dream come true to say that you are the best player in the world.
Kaka concluded his interview by discussing the impact England midfielder David Beckham has made on the Diavolo.
David has shown that his is a great player and he is always ready to go the extra mile, Kaka said.
These first few months are important for him at Milan and I certainly hope that he will be here longer.
The FIFA World Player of the Year winner will be announced later this evening at the Zurich Opera House.
