The Serie B match between Sassuolo and Brescia has been postponed again after today’s inspection confirmed the frozen pitch.
The Week 20 top of the table clash was set to kick off last night, but was called off when the referee and both squads realised the field was frozen solid.
There was another pitch inspection today at midday local time, but once again the conditions at the Stadio Braglia in Modena were unworkable.
“We understood right away that it was going to be impossible to play,” confirmed Sassuolo captain Marco Piccioni.
“Part of the field is in the shade and with the freezing temperatures overnight the conditions deteriorated.”
The game has been postponed until further notice, although early reports suggest the new kick-off will be on Tuesday January 27.
