Genoa forward Raffaele Palladino claims that co-owners Juventus wanted him back during the January transfer window.
The Azzurri marksman signed for Juventus in 2002 before being loaned to Salernitana and Livorno.
Palladino was brought back to base in 2006 but couldn't hold a first-team place and was allowed to join Genoa in the summer of 2008.
However, when Russian side Zenit St Petersburg were linked with Juve's Vincenzo Iaquinta, it seems the Old Lady considered bringing the Neapolitan ace back to Turin.
I could have rejoined Juventus in January, Palladino told Radio Radio. But I wanted to stay here for the time being.
I feel good. I'm happy here and we'll have to wait and see what happens in the future.
If I am to go back to Turin, it will be up to both sides to make the decision.
Palladino has also struggled to find a starting berth at Genoa given the phenomenal form of Diego Milito, but he may start against Roma in this weekend's crunch match.
I have recovered from the injury that sidelined me for over a month, he said.
I hope to be in the starting 11 for the game against Roma because it will be a very exciting match.
