| Panucci: I'm sorry |

Roma defensive veteran Christian Panucci has apologised to the fans and his teammates for threatening to leave the club.
The Azzurri full-back refused to sit on the bench for Roma's 3-0 win over Napoli and issued a transfer request.
However, no deal materialised in spite of interest from Hull City and Torino and Panucci will be with the Lupi until the end of the season.
I publically apologise to the fans, the club and my teammates, Panucci's statement in La Gazzetta dello Sport reads.
I want to thank the fans and my colleagues for being close to me and I don't want to fail in my responsibilities or justify my mistakes.
As I have always done in my life I take full blame and put myself back at the disposal of the club and the technical staff for the rest of the season.
When I said I wanted to leave Rome I was overreacting. I have been here eight years and I want to honour the colours until the end.
Interestingly, Panucci never mentioned Luciano Spalletti by name during his apology and the relationship between the two men may be irreparably damaged.
