Friday 27 February, 2009 | |
Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has called another crisis meeting with the players after yesterday's UEFA Cup defeat.
The Diavolo were sent crashing out of Europe by German side Werder Bremen despite leading by two goals at half-time at San Siro last night.
The result has increased the pressure on Coach Carlo Ancelotti and many expect him to leave in the summer.
But Galliani has moved to try and steady the ship with immediate effect to prevent the season being labelled a failure.
Galliani spoke privately to Ancelotti in the dressing room after the final whistle last night and today he discussed recent events with the players.
Meanwhile, head of the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) Gianni Petrucci expressed his sympathy for Milan.
I feel sorry for them because they are a great team, he said.
Every now and again a club has a bad game but I still thank Milan for all they have done for Italian football.
