Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo has recalled how Inter wanted to sign him early in his career.
The Portuguese international was the star of the show in Inter's 0-0 draw with United at San Siro.
Only some superb goalkeeping from Julio Cesar prevented Ronaldo from finding the net.
Julio Cesar really did some great things and made some superb saves, Ronaldo told the Corriere dello Sport.
I was also impressed by Davide Santon - he is a really exciting talent and a great footballer.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a great striker and a talisman for Inter - our defenders will need to be totally focused to stop him.
Nonetheless, if we play the way we did in the first leg I have no doubts that we will get through.
It recently emerged that Inter were watching Ronaldo before United signed him in 2003, but they never made a move.
It was a long time ago and I don't even remember it well, Ronaldo explained.
I was 17 or 18 and someone mentioned that I could join Inter. I can't really remember what they said but we did discuss it before United arrived.
