Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani will put pen to paper on a new contract in the next few days, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The talented 24-year-old who was born in Rome was growing increasingly anxious that the Giallorossi wouldn't offer him a renewal.
His agent Franco Zavaglia last week told Radio Radio that Roma had yet to get in touch and organise a meeting with his client.
Terms have since been ironed out, though, and the Giallorossi are reportedly willing to offer Aquilani a four-year deal worth £2m a season excluding bonuses.
Aquilani is said to appreciate the club's efforts but wants to cash in while he is still young and is being courted by Inter and Juventus.
The Italy international also fears he is no longer in Coach Luciano Spalletti's plans after he changed the team's formation from a 4-2-3-1 to a 4-3-1-2.
That said, Aquilani feels emotionally tied to the Giallorossi after having spent his entire career with the club.
Aquilani has once again had an injury-blighted season and his appearances have been limited. He has made just seven starts for Roma in Serie A in 2008-09.
