Lazio technical director Igli Tare [pictured] has revealed the Biancocelesti want to sign Estudiantes defender Marcos Angeleri.
Lazio have conceded far too many goals this season, shipping 37 in 25 League games, and desperately need to reinforce at the back.
“The position of Lazio on Angeleri is very clear,” Tare said. “We want the player to be wearing the Biancoceleste jersey next year.”
Tare also reassured Lazio fans that the club is doing everything possible to keep Mauro Zarate, Goran Pandev and Cristian Ledesma in Biancoceleste.
“On the renewals of Zarate, Pandev and Ledesma we are very optimistic, and anyway it will not depend on the final figure.
“There is a desire to make important acquisitions independent of whether we qualify for Europe,” Tare concluded.
Lazio currently lie 11th in Serie A and are back in action this weekend when they take on Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico.
